Run for Mercy Home in Chicago Marathon Oct. 8

Have you—or a family member—ever wanted to cross something off your bucket list?  Mercy Home for Boys & Girls offers a great opportunity to do just that while helping children in crisis.  Join the “Mercy Home Heroes” team and run the sold-out Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Oct. 8, 2017.  Mercy Home Heroes are driven by the belief that no distance is too far to save a child.

Chicago’s Mercy Home for Boys & Girls has been a solution for kids in crisis since 1887, giving neglected and abused children a safe home, education, and life-changing opportunities that help them grow into independent adults.  The Home is 99.9 percent privately funded, so money raised by the Heroes team is critical.  Last year, 150 participants raised more than $400,000 that helped provide children with shelter, food and clothing, as well as therapeutic, academic, and vocational support.

Mercy Home provides a guaranteed entry, free training, fundraising support, Heroes gear, a pre-race pasta dinner and a VIP race-day experience at Hero HQ.  But the biggest perk is getting a Hero’s welcome on race day from friends, family and the children you’re helping, as you run past Mercy Home at Mile 16 on race day.

Seize this unique chance to support a venerable Chicago charity and participate in the epic 40th running of the Chicago Marathon.
